a letter from our chapter president

I went through recruitment as a freshman unsure of what I was looking for, and what I’d find. But after my first conversation with a member of Alpha Omicron Pi (shoutout alum Caroline Caldwell), and the kindness and genuine interest she showed in me, I knew I had to be an Alpha.

That's not a decision I’ve ever regretted since. Members of my lineage and pledge class have grown to be my rock; friends that will last long beyond Columbia. At my highs and lows, I know I have people who will always be there to laugh, celebrate, cry, or just get a meal with. Everyday I am amazed by the ways that Alphas show up for and support one another. Being a part of this community and experiencing this kind of love is a privilege, and one that I don’t take for granted.

As I start my term as Chapter President, I think back to the person I was when I joined the chapter, and feel nothing but gratitude. From encouraging me to take classes out of my major to saying you should apply for that job or join that club, members of the chapter have constantly supported and pushed me to be my best self academically, professionally, and personally. Everyday, the members of Alpha Chapter inspire me to be my best self and I’m proud to be a part of such an intelligent and ambitious group of people, with interests and passions that truly span every field.

I’m so excited to serve as Chapter President and lead our chapter with the same love and care that its members have shown me everyday. Our chapter is a truly special place full of people who have so much love for one another, and I can’t wait for our family to grow this spring. To our future PC ’24, we cannot wait to meet you and show you what alpha love is all about.
