Exceeding the Expectation, Vol. 2

Inspire Ambition. Our sisters embody this statement each and every day through their leadership in campus involvement, variety of internships, research positions, service around the community, and so much more. On a personal level, we witness how our sisters inspire ambition amongst one another in the way we interact: sisters going above and beyond to deliver medicine to a sister who is sick, to spend long hours in Butler in order to help another sister understand her coursework, to take a sister out to dinner first thing to celebrate her first job offer, to enjoy the highs and power through the lows with each other.

This summer has seen our sisters all over the world - completing internships, doing research, participating in service trips and so much more. Through it all, many of our sisters have visited one another, FaceTimed each other every other day and even lived together. Here are just a few summer snapshots of Alphas exceeding the expectation.

As our Class of 2017 seniors graduate and go off into the real world, we are reminded of the wisdom they have imparted upon us through their final contributions to and reflections on their time on Columbia's campus. Below are two articles published by the Columbia Daily Spectator featuring an op-ed from and a profile on two of our seniors, Miranda Kantor, former head copy editor at Spectator, & Aharisi Bonner. For the full articles, check out "Caring about commas" and "Senior profile: Aharisi Bonner, BC' 17."
